Ringkasan Cerita FILM Puss in Boots 2011 :

Hampir setengah hidupnya Puss (Antonio Banderas) mencari telur emas yang konon tersembunyi di sebuah kastil di atas awan. Saat mendengar kabar kalau ada dua orang penjahat yang memiliki kacang ajaib yang bisa digunakan untuk menemukan kastil itu. langsung saja Puss turun tangan memburu dua penjahat ini. Saat Puss berusaha menangkap Jack (Billy Bob Thornton) dan Jill (Amy Sedaris), tiba-tiba saja muncul seekor kucing bertopeng yang menggagalkan usaha Puss. Ternyata kucing bertopeng ini adalah Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek), sang pencuri legendaris. Kitty ternyata bekerja sama dengan Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) dan sedang berusaha mendapatkan kacang ajaib dari Jack dan Jill. Awalnya Puss tak mau membantu Kitty dan Humpty Dumpty namun setelah dibujuk, akhir Puss bersedia. Mereka bertiga berhasil mendapatkan kacang ajaib dari Jack dan Jill dan menggunakannya untuk mengambil telur emas yang dijaga oleh monster ganas. Celakanya, di luar pengetahuan Puss, Kitty Softpaws dan Humpty Dumpty ternyata punya rencana lain yang menyangkut keselamatan Puss.

Review Film HOP 2011

Dasar nasib Fred O’Hare (James Marsden) memang sedang sial. Walaupun sudah berusaha berhati- hati namun tetap saja ia masih tertimpa malapetaka. Kali ini ia harus berurusan dengan Easter Bunny (Russell Brand) yang benar-benar menjengkelkan dan sepertinya tidak ada cara untuk lolos dari malapetaka yang satu ini. Fred yang pengangguran dan pemalas secara tak sengaja menabrak Easter Bunny saat ia sedang dalam perjalanan pulang. Easter Bunny yang merasa dicederai lantas memaksa Fred untuk membawanya pulang agar ia bisa beristirahat sampai ia pulih lagi seperti semula. Awalnya Fred keberatan namun sepertinya ia sudah tak bisa menghindar lagi. Dengan berat hati Fred pun membawa Easter Bunny pulang. Ternyata, Easter Bunny ini benar-benar mimpi buruk buat Fred. Fred sudah tak tahan lagi pada ulah Easter Bunny tapi ia juga tak bisa mengusir tamunya ini begitu saja. Di tengah keputusasaan ini ternyat baik Fred maupun Easter Bunny bisa saling belajar. Bisakah dua kelinci yang tak bisa akur ini bekerja sama dalam misi yang diemban Easter Bunny?

Review FILM Dr. Seuss The Lorax 2012 :

Semua yang ada di Thneed-Ville memang artifisial. Bukan hanya rumah dan jalan, bahkan sampai pohon pun tak ada yang benar-benar asli. Kota ini dibatasi tembok tinggi dan tak seorang pun penghuninya boleh melewati tembok ini. Semuanya sudah tersedia dan tak ada gunanya keluar dari batas kota. Semua orang patuh, kecuali Ted (Zac Efron). Ted harus melewati batas kota untuk mencari apa yang jadi impian Audrey (Taylor Swift). Audrey ingin melihat pohon yang
sesungguhnya, bukan sekedar replika buatan manusia. Kalau itu yang diinginkan Audrey, Ted akan mencarinya. Apa pun akan ia lakukan untuk mendapatkan perhatian gadis yang jadi pujaan hatinya ini. Tentu saja ini bukan perkara gampang tapi tekad Ted sudah bulat. Ia harus mencari tahu apa yang sebenarnya terjadi pada pohon-pohon yang dulu tumbuh bebas di muka bumi. Perjalanan panjang mempertemukan Ted dengan Once-ler (Ed Helms). Once-ler memang bukan pribadi yang ramah. Ia sengaja mengasingkan diri dari keramaian. Dari Once-ler pula Ted mengenal nama The Lorax (Danny DeVito) yang konon bertekad melindungi alam ini dari kerusakan. Sayang usaha The Lorax gagal. Semua pohon kini sudah musnah. Satu-satunya harapan yang tersisa adalah bila Ted berhasil menemukan benih pohon dan ini bukan sesuatu yang gampang.

Hidup bebas dan menjadi diri sendiri. Itulah prinsip yang dianut oleh komunitas yang menamakan diri mereka Elysium ini. George (Paul Rudd) dan Linda (Jennifer Aniston) sebenarnya tak pernah membayangkan bakal jadi bagian dari komunitas hippies ini tapi apa daya, kondisi tak berpihak pada kedua penghuni kota besar ini. Sejak dipecat dari tempatnya bekerja, George mulai kehilangan segalanya. Tak mungkin lagi ia tinggal di Manhattan. Mau tak mau ia harus membawa Linda ke Georgia untuk tinggal bersama saudaranya. Ini sebenarnya bukan pilihan yang terbaik karena George tahu kalau saudaranya bukanlah pria yang menyenangkan. Georgia pun akhirnya hanya jadi tempat tinggal sementara. Windows Phone wins ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ challenge “just because”

You may have heard about the Smoked by Windows Phone competition by now. In these events, a Windows Phone device is pitted against any other smartphone and both are made to do a simple task, with the winner being the one who completes it first. The task is usually something as simple as taking a picture and uploading it to Facebook or finding directions to a place. But as it turns out, this challenge is not as fair as Microsoft makes it out to be, as Sahas Katta of Skatter Tech found out the hard way.

Katta was in a Microsoft store where he wanted to take part in the competition. He was armed with his new Galaxy Nexus. The challenge given to him was to bring up the weather of two different cities as quickly as possible.

Luckily for Katta, he had set up the weather for two cities on his homescreens using widgets and he had also disabled the lockscreen on his phone, a feature found on Android 4.0. Because of this, he could get to his homescreen from sleep mode with just one click of the power button. As you can tell, he was going to win even before the competition started, because no matter how quick Windows Phone is, you’d require at least two interactions (press power button, slide lock screen) to get to the homescreen.

That’s basically what happened when the competition started, with Katta managing to finish before his opponent, who also happened to have the weather for two cities on the homescreen (more on this later). But as it turns out, the winner was actually declared to be the Windows Phone? Why? “Just because”.

That’s just one of the vague replies that Katta got when he asked the people in the Microsoft store for answers. Eventually he had to leave because clearly no one there was in a mood to declare him the winner and give him the prize, a $1,000 special edition laptop.

As you can see, these competitions may not be as clean as the Microsoft’s official videos make them out to be. Other than the fact that the people in the store refused to acknowledge Katta as the winner, they also played dirty by having the weather widgets of the two cities right on the homescreen even before the competition started. That’s not how Windows Phone comes out of the box. Microsoft had set up their phone to a favorable state before the competition, which is basically cheating. Had Katta not had the weather widgets on his phone (which is fine because he actually uses that phone and wasn’t aware of the challenge until he was told about it), he would have taken much longer to bring the weather up. Not that it matters because they declared him the loser anyway.

Of course, this is not to say that all the Smoked by Windows Phone competitions are bogus or that Windows Phone isn’t good at doing some tasks faster than its rivals (it is). But this example here proves that we need to take these things with a heavy dose of Sodium Chloride.

Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio updated with more levels

Rovio just updated its Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio titles with new levels. Just two days before the launch of the brand new Angry Birds Space game, the company’s developers delivered a nice treat to the Angry Birds addicts around the world.

The original Angry Birds game got 15 new tropical themed levels, part of the new 45-level Surf and Turf episode. In addition to the new levels, the update also brings new UI, new animated tutorial and some gameplay improvements such as the fast-forward key for quickly jump to the score screen after you’ve killed the last pig.

The Angry Birds Rio game also gets new levels. Even though the game storyline reached its conclusion, Rovio added 12 new levels for those who collected all three stars (6 levels) and all golden fruits (6 levels) in each episode.

In case you’ve missed the hidden Golden Beachball episode in Rio, you should do a web search to see how it is unlocked (it offers 15 really tough to beat levels).

According to Rovio, this is not the last update for Angry Birds Rio. As far as the original Angry Birds is concerned – there are at least two more updates on the way (for the new Surf and Turf episode). And I highly doubt they’ll be the last ones, either.

Now get those new levels so you can have something to do until Angry Birds Space launches on March 22.
